Tips on leadership and supervision can save you money.

Quality Training/Quality Management Systems
(ISO QS 9000, 14000) (QMS)
A QMS is a structured business management system that is put in place to prevent errors and provide better structure for an organization. It provides companies with a broadly accepted method for managing their business using proven logistical business practices. By implementing a QMS, you can reduce risks, lower costs, and minimize waste while also making fewer mistakes and complying with improvement requirements.

Northern Initiatives’ QMS Services include:

  1. The assessment of your current level of compliance.
  2. The development of a customized implementation plan for your company.
  3. The training and assistance of your staff in the process of QMS documentation – in the writing of policies, procedures and work instructions.
  4. The provision of internal auditor training to audit and maintain your QMS.
  5. The preparation of your company for a registration audit.
  6. The development of a specific action plan and of a time-line for improving quality performance.
  7. The provision of consulting expertise on improvement projects.

We offer low cost group training programs and hands-on implementation assistance designed to meet your specific needs.

Six Sigma
Six Sigma is a cost-effective approach for improving processes and achieving higher quality. Six Sigma applies a set of proven methods and tools to define, measure, analyze, and control process improvements within a company.

The results of Six Sigma improvement projects are measurable and designed for continuous improvement.  MMTC offers on-site consulting for process improvement using Six Sigma tools as well as Champion Training in Six Sigma.

If you have difficulties eliminating quality problems or process variations, MMTC offers on-site Six Sigma assistance.  MMTC can use Six Sigma Tools to eliminate your quality issues.  Our trained Six Sigma “black belts” are experienced in manufacturing with expertise in process improvement, costing systems, and quality management systems.

Leadership, Team and Supervision Training

What is Leadership, Team and Supervision Training?
The Modern Supervisor Workshop prepares supervisors to function more effectively in modern work environments by focusing on areas of leadership, coaching, delegation, overcoming employee resistance to change, employee motivation, adjusting employee performance, teaching others, conflict resolution, handling difficult people, and time/stress management.  Participants leave these workshops knowing much more than they had about their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Who will benefit?
This workshop is designed for all who need to influence/lead others in a dynamic, ever changing, modern work environment, particularly seasoned and new supervisors, team leaders, managers and union representatives.

Why should I attend?
As businesses and institutions reduce the function of direct supervision, adopt teamwork, and expand front line employee responsibility, there is a growing need for supervisors with a different style of managing.  In a modern work environment supervisors with the ability to lead, motivate, teach, and involve their employees have a distinct advantage over traditional command and control-type managers.

Will it fit into my busy schedule?
The training is designed for 2 to 5, 8-hour sessions and is very interactive with group exercises and realistic role-play.   Sessions are provided on a consecutive day or week basis.
