Looking for the path to improvement? Look no further!

LEAN Coaching & Implementation
Carefully planning your operational procedures can dramatically reduce lead-time and inventory. LEAN Tools and Techniques can help by:

  1. Improving product quality.
  2. Reducing inventory.
  3. Shortening lead times.
  4. Eliminating waste and scrap.
  5. Increasing shop floor utilization.
  6. Increasing customer responsiveness.

Adopting a LEAN Manufacturing approach to improvement helps companies become faster and more responsive to customer requirements. As a LEAN approach is adopted, resources can be more effectively used to increase a company’s capacity and capability.

To gain the full benefits of LEAN Manufacturing, Northern Initiatives works with you to evaluate your facility and manufacturing processes.  Next, we work with your executive team to develop a roadmap for implementing profitable solutions in your company.

Our LEAN training and implementation programs are based on a proven LEAN model.  Evidence demonstrates that this model reduces the time it takes to convert a customer order into cash by eliminating waste.

Kaizen Team Facilitation
A Kaizen event is an opportunity for management and line workers to work together to solve manufacturing problems or improve manufacturing processes.
You can expect these things to happen at your Kaizen event

Day #1 –

Setting the Stage and Building a Strong Foundation
In the initial exercise, The Keys to Continuous Improvement Simulation, participants learn LEAN concepts and strategies. Waste problems, workplace organization, housekeeping, and the standardization of processes are introduced.

Day #2 –

Process Mapping
The need to meet diversified customer needs in a short time period leads participants to discuss small lot production practices.  Set-up reduction, flow production, and Kanban pull systems techniques are introduced and practiced.

Day #3 –

 Process Mapping Continues
Visual controls to ensure everyone focuses on the things that are more important are imagined, such as:  fail safe, trouble lights, and automated systems.

Day #4 –

Benchmark Tour
Learn about how other companies have used kaizen events to improve their operations.  Develop your own action plans.
